District Evangelism

Since the days of David Nasmith district visitation has been part of the 'bread & butter' work of many city missions. This has certainly been the case in Birmingham, and it still constitutes a major part of the work.

It is often through this visiting that cases of real social deprivation are found, which then can be helped through the BCM Resource Centre, harvest produce distribution and Christmas toy distribution. Where possible this kind of work is linked in with local churches.

District missionaries call on people door-to-door, hold home Bible studies and work alongside local churches. This may not be a glamorous task, and is not often what comes to mind when we think of missionary work, but it is essential for planting the seed of the Gospel in people's lives. Not just that, but also it works! We can testify that people who have been first spoken to about the Gospel on their doorstep have come right through to a life-changing knowledge of Jesus Christ as their own Lord and Saviour.
